Anyhow, that’s right folks! Nintendo just keeps the Zelda 25th Anniversary train rolling nonstop! Following the release of Ocarina of Time 3D and the upcoming port of the GBA Four Swords in September, Nintendo has announced today that the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be hitting North American shelves this November 20th! And about time they mentioned a freaking release date, if you ask me.
Nintendo accompanied this announcement by citing the game as “a massive, multilayered world that takes players from dark dungeons to a diverse overworld to cloud cities in the sky, requiring a combination of puzzle-solving and swordplay to unlock all of its secrets”; the last bit being my personal favorite aspect about Skyward Sword. I’ve always loved puzzle solving in the Zelda series, but after Twilight Princess, I wasn’t feeling like the swordsman Link is anymore; even while playing the Wii version of the game. So I’m glad that swordplay becomes a more essential element in Zelda. It will make room for more strategizing and devising attack methods for different enemies.
It’s only fitting that this game would release this November. I was actually starting to assume that this game may be pushed for a January release, missing the whole point of celebrating 25 years of Zelda. Oh sh*t I just jinxed the thing! Quick guys! Go to Nintendo HQ and demand your Skyward Sword copies!
Oh, and just so you know, Skyward Sword will be releasing November 18th in Europe, proving once more that Nintendo of Europe is a bazillion times better than Nintendo of America! HORRAY!
